Jean Scheijen

Technical staff

Jean Scheijen is an Analytical Scientist at the Department of Internal Medicine, where he focuses on analytical method development and the application of advanced analytical techniques in biomedical research.

His expertise lies particularly in UPLC-MS/MS, with extensive experience in developing, optimising, and validating analytical methods for the analysis of biomolecules and advanced glycation endproducts (AGEs). His work combines mass spectrometry-based approaches with clinical and translational research, supporting investigations into metabolic disorders, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

He obtained his PhD for his research on 'The analysis of advanced glycation endproducts, a mass spectrometry based approach and its applications'. Over the course of his career, he has developed and implemented a broad range of LC-MS and UPLC-MS/MS methods, contributing to the advancement of quantitative analytical techniques within biomedical research.
