Judith Sluimer is awarded a prestigious Vici grant from NWO for the project 'Resetting fibroblast metabolism rejuvenates aged vasculature'. With this grant, she has now received all three grants within the NWO Talent Scheme.

Judith demonstrated that the first signs of vascular wall ageing are visible in the outer layer of the blood vessel, although research and treatments so far have focused on the inner layer. Judith expects that her research will lead to new treatment possibilities for vascular ageing and resulting cardiovascular diseases.
