People with diabetes who control risk factors are less likely to develop depression

Someone with diabetes has an increased risk of depression, but may be able to limit it by addressing risk factors such as unhealthy diet and high blood pressure. This has emerged from research by scientists at Maastricht UMC+ who analyzed data from nearly 78,000 people.
Research into radioablation in severe cardiac arrhythmias has started

For some of the patients with serious cardiac arrhythmias (ventricular tachycardia, VT), current treatments, such as medication or ablation, do not offer a solution. Researchers from CARIM and Maastro, in collaboration with 30 partner organizations in 8 European countries, will therefore conduct research into a new treatment method: non-invasive radioablation.

Dutch Heart Foundation grant for atrial fibrillation research

The EmbRACE network will investigate this under the supervision Prof. Michiel Rienstra of the University Medical Center Groningen and Prof. Uli Schotten of CARIM.
CARIM researchers successful in ZonMw Open Competition
