Guido Haenen

Assistant Professor

Prof/ Guido Haenen is currently Professor in 'Redox Modulation of Pharmacological and Toxicological Processes'. He was registered as Pharmacist in 1985 (with honours), and he obtained his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry in 1989. He was awarded the ‘Shell Prize’ for his thesis entitled ‘Thiols in Oxidative Stress’. Prof. Haenen is registered as Toxicologist and Clinical Pharmacologist. In 2015, he received the 'Grote Onderwijsprijs' (education prize) for being the best teacher in Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Molecular Toxicology section of the International Journal of Molecular Sciences.
